Dinosaur Festival 2017, three days of events for all ages, annual festival

General information
The third edition of the Dinosaurs Festival will be held this weekend from July 14th to July 16th, 2017. This edition includes events taking place throughout the Geopar of the Haţeg Geopark, the UNESCO International Geoparc, administered by the University of Bucharest.

The Dinosaurs Festival will kick off Friday, July 14 at 10.00, in the Children's Park in Hateg, with DinoATELIERE for small children. Ambassadors and Volunteers for Geoparc have already prepared a lot of interesting activities, so those who will pass by the stands will have surprises meant to spark their imagination, curiosity and skill.

Sânămăria Orlea
Saturday, July 15, the second day of the Festival, is dedicated to promoting the traditions and culture of local communities. The members of the Women's Association from Sânămăria Orlea, together with the representatives of the Geopark, will overcome the Strand of Wool, at the Cultural House in Sânpetru village, starting at 15.00. Participants will learn about wool processing techniques and procedures and will be able to take part in a woolen dye workshop using tincture plants, resulting in natural colors obtained from the specific flora of Hateg Country. And also during this event, participants are invited to take part in an unprecedented crochet contest.

The Dinosaurs Festival is part of the events program organized by the Haaseg Countryside Dinosaurs Geopar administered by the University of Bucharest, which encourages and promotes education, art, culture and sports. Since this year, the event has been realized and sustained by members of local communities in Geoparc territory interested in promoting and developing the Land of Hateg. At the same time, the Dinosaur Festival is part of the events organized to mark the International Year of Sustainable Tourism Development declared by the United Nations and the UNESCO Global Network of Geoparks is Silver Partner.
