"Codrii" Seculari from the village of Vadu Dobrii

The natural protected area "Codrii Seculari" is located in the Poiana Ruscăi Mountains, on their north-eastern slope.
The area is very beautiful, with rocky panels, wide, deep valleys, gentle slopes going uphill.  The dominant vegetation is the beech tree.

The quality and importance of this site is given almost entirely of beech trees of over 100 years of age preserved in their natural state. Some trees are 180 – 200 years old, and have exceptional sizes (diameters over 1.5 m and heights above 40 m). The protected area of national interest includes Luzulo-Fagetum beech forests, Asperulo-Fagetum beech forests and Symphyto-Fagion forests.
Herepean Nicu reveals the beauty of a nearly deserted village, with approx. 100 inhabitants, seemingly out of history and brought in today, so that we can admire the silence of an almost vanished settlement
